  • Our focus was on our second annual Preparing for Our Future Youth Summit that brought together 300 youth from throughout Los Angeles on Friday, May 7. Sponsors included Amer-I-Can, Building Up Los Angeles AmerICorps National Service Program, California State University Los Angeles Equal Opportunity Program, LA LINK Tobacco Control, Radio Sin Fronteras, and the Search to Involve Pilipino Americans.
  • Students learned about and networked around current Human Rights issues. The summit provides a lively educational forum for youth to develop leadership and conflict-resolution skills, coalitions and networks to take action to improve the quality of life for our families, schools, workplaces, and communities.
  • We enjoyed educational cultural performances by Medusa, Leon Mobley and Xipe Totec.
